Since starting DnD and Pathfinder back in 2017, terrain and XPS foam has been a pain to get a hold of. So many cool environments, all reduced to a screen or a box.
Lets fix that!
Our Story
History
The name is derived from DIY - do it yourself - and Diorama - "a model representing a scene with three-dimensional figures, either in miniature or as a large-scale museum exhibit."
It was born from the frustrations of getting XPS in Denmark, and the incessant need to tinker with things.

Vision
Quite simply: XPS foam should be easy to get a hold of, in the most typical sizes needed in Europe. It shouldn't cost an arm and a leg, it should be high quality and arrive quickly.
HOW WE STARTED
Frustration and ignorance
XPS foam in Denmark is only available in very large bulk, at very high prices.
The wall
First we contacted some XPS manufacturers to know if they would be willing to make smaller batches. We were told "no".
Then we contacted them about different height products. Some that would be easier to fit into the 1-2-3 inch heights. We were told "no".
Then we researched how to make our own XPS foam. Realized we would need a massive amount of capital, asked our wallets and were told "no".
The solution
If we couldn't get the materials in the sizes we needed, we would build a thing to get them in the sizes we needed.

Calling up 16 different manufacturers in Denmark, Germany, Belgium to hear if they could assist us. Being told "we do not have a large enough quantity, and they don't work in those sizes".

Electrical engi-not-working
Trying to figure out how to make a device to cut the XPS foam into the sizes needed, with the same quality each time.

Consistent result
Having laid a plan for the device, hopefully figured out the wiring and gotten a consistent product at the other end.
